Foxleigh Grove was originally a large private house dating back to the late 18th century. The owners Mr & Mrs Aram improved the fabric and furnishings of the building and carefully designed extensions were added in order to preserve the character and dignity of the original house. Full registration to care for elderly people and physically disabled adults was obtained and they admitted the first residents in 1983.
Mark Aram, the general manager continues to uphold the values, principles and policies of this family owned nursing home, offering a standard of excellence which embraces the fundamental principles of good care practice for its 39 residents.

"My mother went to Foxleigh Grove in 2016 for what the NHS said was end of life care. Foxleigh's warmth and excellent care brought her recovery and 5 years of happy, good quality life.
The house itself is welcoming and pleasantly decorated, well maintained. The gardens are lovely and well cared for. My mother's room had french windows opening onto the terrace, and a table and chairs right outside, which she could use when she wanted. The food is good; 'special requests' and meals, not just snacks, for visitors are always available.
The most important thing is the quality of the owners and staff. Their skill, devotion, attitude, work ethic and wish to please is exceptional. Every nurse there, the cook and the handyman were all my mother's favourite. She was and felt loved and cared for. We have only the highest praise for the care she received and the atmosphere there.
My mother and we were very fortunate to find somewhere so good to look after her. The care is excellent".

‘Our Mother has been at Foxleigh now since June 2017, following a near brush with death leaving her with heart failure and chronic COPD. The team at Foxleigh helped her get back on her feet and from a lady who had previously been determined she wanted to remain at home as she grew older, she very quickly decided that Foxleigh was to be her new home and has never looked back. Our Mother regards the team at Foxleigh as an extension of her own family and particularly at this time when faced with the challenges of Covid 19 we cannot thank them enough for keeping the person most precious to us safe and so well cared for.’

‘Mum has been resident at Foxleigh Grove for 6-months now. Initially, she found it difficult to leave her home and garden, but she has settled now, accepting that she requires 24/7 nursing care. She has a lovely, bright room at the back of the house overlooking the well-tended gardens. She joins in with activities when these are available and is appreciative of the food which is provided in line with her dietary needs. The staff are caring, encouraging and sensitive and mum's health has improved to such an extent that she has required only one brief admission to hospital in recent months. The Covid-19 pandemic has been a significant challenge for residents, staff and relatives alike, but shielding was instituted early, and great care is taken to minimise the risk of bringing the virus into the home. As relatives have been unable to visit, staff provide updates via private app groups. I am grateful to them all for the care Mum is receiving in these difficult times.’

'My mother has been a resident here for 2.5 years. During her stay she has become less able to do things for herself and the staff have gently adapted their care to suit her. She now has to have help with personal care and eating; this is done without rush and with care.
All the staff are friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy their work. In these last few months this has been so reassuring as due to Covid-19 family have not been allowed to visit and it helps to know that even though we can’t visit, the residents have friends around them in the team at Foxleigh. The building is beautiful: previously a family home it has been thoughtfully extended but retains that ‘family home’ feel which makes it feel less of an institution. There is a dining room, lounge and conservatory overlooking wonderful gardens. The food is generally delicious and varied. Activities including games, quizzes, musical events, to name a few, are organised most days for those that wish to join in. It’s great!

'The care home is home from home. A superb personal touch, excellent medical care and the residents treated with kindness, respect and dignity. My father whilst physically frail is still alert and has full cognitive ability. He is very fond of the nursing and caring staff and would not wish to be anywhere else. A big thank you to Foxleigh.'
Care Quality Commission
We were very disappointed to receive the Requires improvement rating from CQC, especially as we have been good for the last three years. This was mainly down to administrative errors, which have been rectified, and by no means reflects the high standard of care that Foxleigh Grove has built it’s reputation on over the last 38 years. Please do not let this rating put you off us, do call and we can go through everything with you, or better still make an appointment to come and visit us. Please note that all visits will be in line with COVID-19 regulations.
